- Assigned number is in critical range (-> percent in TNRO) ?The SAP error message 56306, which states "Assigned number is in critical range (-> percent in TNRO)," typically occurs when the number range for a particular object (like document numbers, order numbers, etc.) is approaching its limit. This is a warning that the system is nearing the maximum number that can be assigned, which can lead to issues if not addressed.
Cause:
- Number Range Limit: Each number range in SAP has a defined upper limit. When the assigned numbers approach this limit, the system generates this warning.
- Configuration Issues: The number range may not have been configured properly, or it may not have been extended to accommodate more numbers.
- High Volume of Transactions: If there is a high volume of transactions being processed, the number range can be consumed quickly.
Solution:
Check Current Number Range:
- Go to transaction code
SNRO
(Number Range Objects) and check the current status of the number range in question.- Identify how many numbers have been assigned and how many are left.
Extend the Number Range:
- If the number range is indeed nearing its limit, you can extend it. This can be done in the same
SNRO
transaction.- Select the relevant number range object and adjust the upper limit to a higher value.
Create a New Number Range:
- If extending the existing number range is not feasible, consider creating a new number range and assigning it to the relevant object.
Monitor Usage:
- Regularly monitor the usage of number ranges to prevent this issue from occurring in the future. Set up alerts if necessary.
Consult Documentation:
- Review SAP documentation or consult with your SAP Basis or functional team for specific instructions related to your system configuration.
