Message text: Cannot create an entry to copy & to & because & exists in CWType area
You chose <LS>copy 1 wage type</> and then entered the three parameters
to create several copies from one model wage type. But one of the wage
type names you have just generated already exists in the
<LS>customizing wage type</> field shown on the screen.
The entry that had an existing wage type name is not created, but all
the other new entries are displayed in the table.
You entered the following for the original wage type <LS>M001</>:
Wage type begins at <LS>1000</>
Number of wage types <LS>4</>
Increase per step <LS>10</>
However, an entry already exists on the screen for the wage type you
want to copy as 1020. In this case, only three new entries are created
in the table on the screen. These are:
<LS>Original WT</> <LS>Customizing WT</>
M001 1000
M001 1010
M001 1030

- Cannot create an entry to copy & to & because & exists in CWType area ?The SAP error message 54300, which states "Cannot create an entry to copy & to & because & exists in CWType area," typically occurs in the context of the SAP system when there is an attempt to create a new entry or copy an existing entry in a specific area (often related to configuration or master data) where a conflict arises due to the existence of a similar entry.
Cause:
Duplicate Entry: The error usually indicates that there is already an existing entry in the specified area (CWType) that conflicts with the new entry you are trying to create or copy. This could be due to:
- An existing record with the same key or identifier.
- A violation of unique constraints in the database.
Data Integrity Rules: The system enforces data integrity rules that prevent the creation of duplicate entries to maintain consistency and reliability in the data.
Solution:
Check Existing Entries:
- Review the existing entries in the CWType area to identify if the entry you are trying to create already exists. You can do this by using transaction codes relevant to the data you are working with (e.g., SE11 for Data Dictionary, SE16 for table display).
Modify or Delete Existing Entry:
- If you find that the entry already exists and it is not needed, consider deleting or modifying it to allow the new entry to be created.
- If the existing entry is valid and should remain, you may need to adjust the parameters of the new entry you are trying to create to avoid the conflict.
Consult Documentation:
- Check the SAP documentation or help resources for specific guidelines related to the CWType area you are working with. This may provide insights into the constraints and rules governing the entries.
Contact Support:
- If you are unable to resolve the issue, consider reaching out to your SAP support team or consulting with SAP support for further assistance. They may provide additional insights or solutions based on the specific configuration of your SAP system.
