Message text: Collision at target location (element truncated and made scrollable)
You tried to move the element to a position where it would have
collided with another screen element, the edge of its container, or the
edge of the screen itself.
Since the element has an adjustable visible length, the length has been
changed to allow the element to be placed where you positioned it. the
"Scrollable" attribute has also been set to ensure that the entire text
can be displayed at runtime.
This message is to inform you about a system action. If you do not want
the element to be shortened automatically, move it to a position on the
screen where it can be displayed in its full length without causing
collisions, and then switch off the "Scrollable" attribute.

- Collision at target location (element truncated and made scrollable) ?The SAP error message 37763, which states "Collision at target location (element truncated and made scrollable)," typically occurs in the context of SAP GUI or SAP Web applications when there is a layout issue in the user interface. This error indicates that there are overlapping elements in the screen layout, which can lead to display problems.
Cause:
- Overlapping UI Elements: The most common cause of this error is that two or more UI elements (like text fields, buttons, etc.) are positioned in such a way that they overlap each other. This can happen due to incorrect screen design or layout settings.
- Screen Size or Resolution: If the screen size or resolution is not compatible with the layout defined in the SAP application, it can lead to elements being displayed incorrectly.
- Custom Development: If there are custom screens or modifications made to standard SAP transactions, these changes might not adhere to the layout guidelines, causing collisions.
Solution:
- Adjust Layout: Review the layout of the screen in the SAP GUI or Web application. Ensure that UI elements are properly aligned and do not overlap. This may involve adjusting the size or position of elements.
- Check Screen Size Settings: Ensure that the screen size settings in the SAP GUI or browser are appropriate for the application. Sometimes, changing the resolution or zoom level can resolve display issues.
- Review Custom Code: If the issue arises from custom developments, review the code to ensure that it adheres to SAP's layout guidelines. Make necessary adjustments to avoid overlapping elements.
- Use Scrollable Areas: If certain elements must remain in the same position but cannot fit within the available space, consider using scrollable areas to contain them without overlap.
- SAP Notes and Support: Check for any relevant SAP Notes or updates that might address this issue. Sometimes, SAP releases patches or updates that fix known layout problems.
