Specifically, the error message states that the item category is within the reserved customer name range (0-9, X-Z). This typically means that the item category you are trying to use is not allowed for the transaction you are attempting to perform.
Cause:
- Reserved Item Categories: In SAP, certain item categories are reserved for specific purposes or for system use. The ranges 0-9 and X-Z are often reserved for standard or system-defined item categories.

- Transaction Type Restrictions: The transaction type you are using may have restrictions on which item categories can be used.
Solution:
Check Item Category Configuration:
- Go to the configuration settings for item categories in the relevant module (e.g., Sales and Distribution, Materials Management).
- Ensure that the item category you are trying to use is correctly defined and not reserved for system use.
Use a Different Item Category:
- If the item category you are trying to use is indeed reserved, consider using a different item category that is allowed for your transaction.
Review Transaction Type Settings:
- Check the settings for the transaction type you are using to see if there are any restrictions on item categories.
