  1. Enter transaction code OS28 in the SAP command field. 
  2. Select the “Defaults” tab. 
  3. Select the “Create” button to create a new default value for a BOM. 
  4. Enter the material type, item category, and item category group for the new default value. 
  5. Select the “Save” button to save the new default value. 
  6. Select the “Back” button to return to the main screen of OS28. 
  7. Select the “Execute” button to view all existing defaults for BOMs. 
  8. Select a default value from the list and select “Change” or “Delete” to
