  1. Enter transaction code PX01 in the command field. 
  2. Select “Create” from the menu bar. 
  3. Enter a name for the planning area in the “Planning Area” field. 
  4. Select a type of planning from the drop-down menu in the “Planning Type” field. 
  5. Select a data source from the drop-down menu in the “Data Source” field. 
  6. Select a data structure from the drop-down menu in the “Data Structure” field. 
  7. Click “Save” to save your changes. 
  8. To assign a planning area to an external plan, select “Assign Planning Area” from the menu bar and enter an external plan name in the “External Plan” field.
