Smart SAP Assistant

  • SAP Tcode: GJEG - EDI inbound: mapping qualifier

    Overview:
GJEG is an SAP transaction code used to manage EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) inbound mapping qualifiers. It is used to define the mapping of EDI inbound messages and the corresponding SAP objects.

    Functionality:
GJEG allows users to define the mapping of EDI inbound messages and the corresponding SAP objects. This includes defining the mapping of EDI segments, fields, and qualifiers to SAP objects such as tables, fields, and structures. This transaction code also allows users to define the mapping of EDI segments, fields, and qualifiers to external systems such as non-SAP systems.

    Step-by-step How to Use:
    1. Enter GJEG in the command field.
    2. Select the “Mapping Qualifier” tab.
    3. Select the “Create” button to create a new mapping qualifier.
    4. Enter a name for the mapping qualifier and select “Save”.
    5. Select the “Mapping Qualifier” tab again and select the newly created mapping qualifier from the list.
    6. Select the “Mapping” tab and enter the details of the EDI segment, field, and qualifier that you want to map to an SAP object or external system.
    7. Select “Save” when you are done entering all of the details for your mapping qualifier.
    8. Select “Activate” to activate your mapping qualifier and make it available for use in EDI inbound messages.

    Other Recommendations:
It is important to note that GJEG is only used for defining mappings for EDI inbound messages; it cannot be used for defining mappings for EDI outbound messages or other types of messages such as IDocs or XMLs. Additionally, it is recommended that users test their mappings thoroughly before activating them in order to ensure that they are working correctly and producing the desired results.
