What is multiplier in SAP SRM-LA - Live Auction?


SAP Term: multiplier

  • Component: SRM-LA

  • Component Name: Live Auction

  • Description: A percentage value the purchaser assigns to a bidder per auction line item that lends either a competitive advantage or disadvantage to that bidder. Values between -99 and 0 give the bidder an advantage. Values between 0 and 100 put the bidder at a disadvantage.

  • Key Concepts: 
    A multiplier is a feature of the SAP SRM-LA Live Auction component that allows buyers to increase their bid amounts by a certain percentage. This feature is used to increase the competitiveness of the auction and to ensure that buyers are able to make bids that are higher than the current highest bid. 
    
    How to use it: 
    In order to use the multiplier feature, buyers must first select the “Multiplier” option from the auction page. Once selected, buyers can enter a percentage value that they would like to increase their bid by. This percentage value will be applied to the current highest bid and the buyer’s new bid will be submitted. 
    
    Tips & Tricks: 
    It is important to remember that the multiplier feature is only available for certain types of auctions. Additionally, it is important to note that the multiplier feature can only be used once per auction.
