SAP Term: Time Profiles

Smart SAP Assistant

  • Key Concepts:
Time Profiles are used in SAP Integrated Business Planning (IBP) to define the time periods for which planning data is maintained. Time Profiles are used to define the length of the planning horizon, the frequency of planning cycles, and the granularity of the planning data.

    How to use it:
Time Profiles are used to define the length of the planning horizon, which is the number of time periods that will be included in the planning cycle. The frequency of planning cycles is determined by the Time Profile, which can be set to daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly. The granularity of the planning data is also determined by the Time Profile, which can be set to hours, days, weeks, months, or years.

    Tips & Tricks:
When setting up a Time Profile in SAP IBP, it is important to consider how often you need to plan and how much detail you need in your planning data. If you need more detailed data, you should set a shorter time period for your Time Profile. If you need less detailed data, you should set a longer time period for your Time Profile.
