Smart SAP Assistant

  • Key Concepts:
Freeze Horizon for Production is a feature in SAP's Supply Chain Management (SCM) and Integrated Business Planning (IBP) for Retail and Merchandise (RM) module. It allows users to set a specific date in the future when production planning should be frozen. This ensures that all production plans are based on the same data and that no changes can be made after the freeze date.

    How to use it:
To use the Freeze Horizon for Production feature, users must first set up a production plan in the SCM-IBP-RM module. Once the plan is created, users can then set a freeze date for the plan. This can be done by selecting the “Freeze Horizon” option from the menu and entering the desired date. Once the freeze date is set, any changes made to the plan after that date will not be reflected in the production plan.

    Tips & Tricks:
It is important to remember that setting a freeze horizon does not prevent changes from being made to the production plan before the freeze date. Therefore, it is important to review and adjust the plan regularly to ensure that it is up-to-date and accurate. Additionally, it is important to note that setting a freeze horizon does not prevent changes from being made to other parts of the SCM-IBP-RM module, such as inventory or demand planning.
