In SAP Extended Warehouse Management (SCM-EWM), a packaging specification is used to define the packaging requirements for a particular product or group of products. 
  
  How to use it: 
  In SAP EWM, a packaging specification is created in the Packaging Specification Maintenance (PPM) transaction. The PPM transaction allows users to define the type of packaging material, the size and shape of the package, and the number of items that can be packed in each package. The PPM transaction also allows users to define additional information such as the weight and volume of each package. Once a packaging specification is created, it can be assigned to a product or group of products in the Product Master Data (PMD) transaction.
