What is deconsolidation in SAP SCM-EWM - Extended Warehouse Management?

  • Description: The process of distributing breaking down inbound handling units in preparation for movement to their final destination. This process is utilized when the material/HU within a handling unit needs to be distributed to multiple destinations i.e. various areas within a warehouse, work centers, other warehouses, etc..

    Deconsolidation is a process in SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) that allows for the splitting of a consolidated shipment into multiple smaller shipments. This process is used when goods are received in a consolidated shipment, but need to be split into multiple shipments for further processing. 
    
    How to use it: 
    In order to use deconsolidation, the user must first create a deconsolidation task. This task will define the criteria for how the consolidated shipment should be split. Once the task is created, the user can then select the consolidated shipment and initiate the deconsolidation process. The system will then split the shipment according to the criteria defined in the task. 
    
    Tips & Tricks: 
    When creating a deconsolidation task, it is important to ensure that all of the criteria are properly defined. This will ensure that the system splits the shipment correctly and that all of the necessary information is captured. Additionally, it is important to ensure that all of the necessary documents are available before initiating the deconsolidation process.
