What is aggregated status in SAP SCM-BAS-STM - Status Management?

SAP Term: aggregated status

  • Component: SCM-BAS-STM

  • Component Name: Status Management

  • Description: Status at a higher level in a multi-level object which writes the status information of all subobjects in a compressed way. In an inbound delivery, two items have the status 'goods receipt not started' for example, all other items have the status 'goods receipt complete'. The aggregated status for the document header is thus 'goods receipt in process'. Once all items have reached the status 'goods receipt complete', then the aggregated status at document header level also changes to 'goods receipt complete'.

Smart SAP Assistant

  • Key Concepts:
Aggregated status is a feature of SAP's Status Management component in SCM-BAS-STM. It allows users to group multiple statuses into one, making it easier to track and manage the statuses of different objects. For example, a user can group all the statuses of a particular order into one aggregated status.

    How to use it:
To use aggregated status, users must first define the statuses they want to group together. This can be done in the Status Profile Maintenance transaction (SPRO). Once the statuses are defined, users can assign them to an object in the Status Maintenance transaction (SM30). The object will then have an aggregated status that reflects the statuses of its individual components.

    Tips & Tricks:
When defining an aggregated status, it is important to consider how the individual statuses interact with each other. For example, if one of the statuses is “in progress” and another is “completed”, then the aggregated status should reflect this by being “in progress” or “completed”.
