What is invalidate in SAP SCM-APO-VS - Vehicle Scheduling?


SAP Term: invalidate

  • Component Name: Vehicle Scheduling

  • Description: Lock a planned shipment for planning. The planned shipment gets the status "Invalidated" and a red light. If the planned shipment had already been tendered, the system sends a cancelation mail to the transportation service provider. You can remove the lock by manually resetting the status.

    Invalidate is a term used in SAP SCM-APO-VS Vehicle Scheduling to describe the process of canceling a planned order or delivery. This process is used when a planned order or delivery is no longer needed or valid. 
    
    How to use it: 
    To invalidate a planned order or delivery, go to the “Planning Board” tab in the SAP SCM-APO-VS Vehicle Scheduling application. Select the planned order or delivery that you want to invalidate and click on the “Invalidate” button. This will cancel the planned order or delivery and remove it from the system. 
    
    Tips & Tricks: 
    When invalidating a planned order or delivery, make sure to double check that it is no longer needed before proceeding. Once a planned order or delivery has been invalidated, it cannot be undone.
