Smart SAP Assistant

  • Key Concepts:
Order split is a feature of the Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling (PPS) component of SAP's Advanced Planner and Optimizer (APO). It allows users to divide an order into multiple parts, each with its own delivery date. This is useful for managing complex production orders that require multiple steps or resources.

    How to use it:
To use order split, users must first create a production order in the PPS component of APO. Once the order is created, users can select the “Split Order” option from the menu. This will open a window where users can specify the number of parts they want to split the order into, as well as the delivery dates for each part. Once all the details are entered, users can save the order and it will be split into multiple parts.

    Tips & Tricks:
When using order split, it is important to remember that each part of the order must have its own delivery date. If two parts have the same delivery date, they will be merged back into one order. Additionally, it is important to note that when an order is split, all parts must be completed before the original delivery date.

    Related Information:
Order split is just one of many features available in SAP's APO PPS component. Other features include capacity planning, material requirements planning (MRP), and supply chain optimization. For more information on these features and how to use them, please refer to SAP's official documentation.
