What is qRFC LUW in SAP (SCM-APO-INT - Interfaces)?

SAP Term: qRFC LUW

  • Component: SCM-APO-INT

  • Component Name: Interfaces

  • Description: Logical unit of work LUW in which multiple queued remote function calls qRFC are collected for a data transfer using the Core Interface CIF. The sequence of qRFCs within an LUW is determined in the source system and retained during posting to the target system. Changes to data that are made using the qRFCs in an LUW in the target system are only posted if all qRFCs in the LUW can be processed successfully.

  • Key Concepts:
qRFC LUW stands for queued Remote Function Call Logical Unit of Work. It is a type of communication between two SAP systems that allows for asynchronous communication. This means that the sender does not have to wait for a response from the receiver before continuing with its own processing. qRFC LUW is used in the SCM-APO-INT Interfaces component of SAP.

    How to use it:
qRFC LUW is used to send data from one SAP system to another. The sender sends the data in a queue, and the receiver can then process it at its own pace. This allows for more efficient communication between two systems, as the sender does not have to wait for a response before continuing with its own processing.

    Tips & Tricks:
When using qRFC LUW, it is important to ensure that the data being sent is accurate and up-to-date. This will ensure that the receiver can process the data correctly and efficiently. Additionally, it is important to monitor the queues regularly to ensure that they are not becoming overloaded with data.

    Related Information:
qRFC LUW is similar to tRFC (Trusted Remote Function Call), which is also used for asynchronous communication between two SAP systems. However, tRFC does not use queues, and instead sends data directly from one system to another. Additionally, qRFC LUW can be used in conjunction with other types of communication such as IDocs (Intermediate Documents) and ALE (Application Link Enabling).
