Smart SAP Assistant

  • Key Concepts:
Event type is a feature of SAP's Supply Chain Management-Advanced Planner and Optimizer-Forecasting and Replenishment (SCM-APO-FCS) Demand Planning component. It is used to define the type of event that will trigger a forecast calculation. Examples of events include changes in demand, changes in the forecast model, or changes in the forecast horizon.

    How to use it:
Event types are used to control when and how often forecasts are calculated. They can be used to set up automatic calculations or manual calculations. For example, an event type can be set up to trigger a forecast calculation whenever demand changes, or whenever the forecast model is changed.

    Tips & Tricks:
When setting up event types, it is important to consider the frequency of the events that will trigger the forecast calculation. If the events occur too frequently, it can lead to unnecessary calculations and slow down system performance. On the other hand, if the events occur too infrequently, it can lead to inaccurate forecasts.
