Component: SCM-APO-FCS
Component Name: Demand Planning
Description: In a diagnosis group you specify the values of the statistical measures of error that checked against when you execute a forecast either interactively or as a background job. Depending on whether you are using a univariate or a MLR forecast profile different measures of error are available. If one of the measures is exceeded or in the case of some MLR measures of error not reached, an alert is triggered when a corresponding alert profile has been assigned to the user and planning book. In interactive planning a message is issued - an alert profile is not required. Similarly if you are using adaptive forecasting with univariate forecasting, automatic model selection is triggered if a value is exceeded.
Key Concepts: A diagnosis group is a feature of SAP's Supply Chain Management-Advanced Planner and Optimizer-Forecast Consumption System (SCM-APO-FCS) Demand Planning component. It is used to group together similar products or product characteristics for the purpose of forecasting demand. This allows for more accurate forecasting by taking into account the similarities between products and their associated demand. How to use it: To use a diagnosis group, first create a group in the Demand Planning component of SCM-APO-FCS. This can be done by selecting the “Create Diagnosis Group” option from the menu. Then, select the products or product characteristics that you want to include in the group. Finally, assign a forecast model to the group and save your changes. Tips & Tricks: When creating a diagnosis group, it is important to consider which products or product characteristics should be included in the group. It is best to include items that have similar demand patterns so that the forecast model can accurately predict future demand. Additionally, it is important to regularly review and update diagnosis groups as needed to ensure that they are still relevant and accurate.
