  • Key Concepts:
A planning run type is a setting in the SAP Advanced Planning and Optimization (APO) module that determines the type of planning run that will be executed. It is used to define the scope of the planning run, such as which products and locations will be included, as well as the type of planning algorithm that will be used. The planning run type also determines which parameters will be used for the planning run, such as the time horizon and the planning strategy.

    How to use it:
In order to use a planning run type in SAP APO, it must first be created in the system. This can be done by navigating to the “Planning Run Type” tab in the “Enhanced Maintenance and Service Planning” component of SAP SCM-APO-EMS. Once created, the planning run type can then be selected when executing a planning run.

    Tips & Tricks:
When creating a new planning run type, it is important to ensure that all relevant parameters are set correctly. This includes setting the time horizon, selecting the appropriate planning strategy, and ensuring that all relevant products and locations are included in the scope of the planning run.
