  • Key Concepts:
Shortage check is a feature of SAP's Global Available-to-Promise (ATP) component of the Supply Chain Management (SCM) module. It is used to determine whether there is enough inventory available to fulfill a customer order. The system checks the current stock levels and compares them to the customer's requested quantity. If there is not enough inventory, the system will flag the order as a shortage.

    How to use it:
Shortage check can be used in two ways. First, it can be used to determine whether an order can be fulfilled in its entirety. This is done by comparing the requested quantity to the current stock levels. If there is not enough inventory, the system will flag the order as a shortage. Second, it can be used to determine whether an order can be partially fulfilled. This is done by comparing the requested quantity to the current stock levels and then calculating how much of the order can be fulfilled with what is available in stock.

    Tips & Tricks:
When using shortage check, it is important to keep in mind that it only takes into account current stock levels and does not consider any future orders or deliveries that may affect availability. Additionally, it is important to note that shortage check does not take into account any special pricing or discounts that may be applicable for certain orders.
