  • Description: An 11-character, alphanumeric code that is assigned to every company or individual that is registered to pay tax in India. The first two characters represent one of the Indian states. The setup of the next nine characters is different for each state.

    A Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) is a unique number assigned to an individual or business by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) for tax filing and reporting purposes. In SAP Business One, the TIN is used to identify customers and vendors in the system. 
    
    How to use it: 
    In SAP Business One, the TIN is used to identify customers and vendors in the system. To add a TIN to a customer or vendor record, go to the “Accounts” tab and select “Customers” or “Vendors”. Select the customer or vendor you wish to add a TIN to and click “Edit”. Enter the TIN in the “Tax ID” field and click “Save”. 
    
    Tips & Tricks: 
    When entering a TIN into SAP Business One, make sure that you enter it correctly. If you enter an incorrect TIN, it could lead to incorrect tax filing and reporting.
