The term "material sample" - in contrast to the term "inspection sample" - typically describes formless subpopulations of bulk products or continuous products, which are taken from a basic population in a sample-drawing procedure. In the SAP system, the sample is managed in the form of a data record, containing the following types: Primary samples taken directly from the population Pooled samples created by pooling primary samples Reserve samples, primary samples that are reserved as specimen samples
