  Characteristic type is a feature of the Quality Management (QM) component in SAP. It is used to define the characteristics of an inspection lot, such as material, batch, or supplier. Characteristic types are used to group characteristics together and assign them to an inspection lot.

  In order to use characteristic types, you must first create them in the SAP system. This can be done by navigating to the Quality Management module and selecting “Characteristic Types” from the menu. From there, you can create a new characteristic type and assign it to an inspection lot.
