What is floating month in SAP PY - Payroll?


SAP Term: floating month

  • Component Name: Payroll

  • Description: Time unit that you use to perform a valuation of averages for wage types if your payroll periods are not calendar months. A floating month does not start on the first of a calendar month. Instead, it starts on any day x and ends on day x-1 of the following month. The day of the calendar month on which the floating month commences depends on the payroll periodicity such as each week or every two weeks and on your customizing settings for valuations of averages.
