What is open time pair in SAP PT - Personnel Time Management?

  • Description: An incomplete time pair determined during pair formation. A pair is formed from a start and end time. One of these elements is missing in an open pair. &EXAMPLE& An employee can forget to record the clock-in posting at the terminal and only record a clock-out posting.

    Open Time Pair is a feature in SAP Personnel Time Management (PT) that allows an employee to enter their own time data into the system. This data includes the start and end times of their workday, as well as any breaks taken during the day. The open time pair feature allows employees to enter their own time data without having to wait for a supervisor or manager to approve it. 
    
    How to use it: 
    To use the open time pair feature, an employee must first log into the SAP system and navigate to the Personnel Time Management module. Once there, they can select the “Open Time Pair” option and enter their start and end times for the day, as well as any breaks taken during the day. Once this information is entered, it will be automatically saved in the system and can be used for payroll calculations. 
    
    Tips & Tricks: 
    When entering your time data into the open time pair feature, make sure to double-check your entries before submitting them. This will help ensure that your time data is accurate and that you are not over- or under-reporting your hours worked. Additionally, if you take any breaks during the day, make sure to include them in your open time pair entry so that they are accounted for in payroll calculations.
