  • Key Concepts:
Preposted budget is a feature of the Budget Control System (BCS) component of SAP’s Project System Management (PSM) module. It allows users to enter budget amounts for a project before the project is actually created. This allows users to plan ahead and ensure that the project will have sufficient funds available when it is created.

    How to use it:
To use preposted budget, users must first create a budget plan in the BCS component of PSM. This plan should include the budget amounts for each project that is expected to be created in the future. Once the plan is created, users can then create projects and assign them to the budget plan. The budget amounts will then be automatically assigned to the project when it is created.

    Tips & Tricks:
When creating a budget plan for preposted budgets, it is important to make sure that all of the expected projects are included in the plan. This will ensure that all of the projects have sufficient funds available when they are created. Additionally, it is important to regularly review and update the budget plan as needed to ensure that it remains up-to-date with current projects and their associated budgets.
