  • Key Concepts:
Overlapping in SAP Production Planning and Control (PP) is a feature that allows for the scheduling of multiple production orders to overlap in time. This means that the same resources can be used for multiple orders at the same time, allowing for more efficient use of resources and increased production capacity.

    How to use it:
In order to use overlapping in PP, you must first set up the overlapping parameters in the system. This includes setting up the maximum number of overlapping orders, the maximum overlap duration, and the minimum overlap duration. Once these parameters are set, you can then create production orders with overlapping start and end dates.

    Tips & Tricks:
When setting up overlapping parameters, it is important to consider the resources available and the production capacity of your organization. Setting up too many overlapping orders may lead to overloading of resources and decreased production efficiency.
