  • Key Concepts:
Component Unit of Measure (UoM) is a term used in SAP Production Planning and Control (PP). It is a unit of measure used to define the quantity of a component that is required for a production order. This unit of measure is used to determine the amount of material needed for a production order and can be different from the UoM used for the finished product.

    How to use it:
In SAP PP, the Component UoM is defined in the material master record. This UoM is then used in the Bill of Materials (BOM) to define the quantity of each component required for a production order. The Component UoM can also be used in the production order itself to define the quantity of each component that needs to be produced.

    Tips & Tricks:
When defining the Component UoM, it is important to ensure that it is consistent with the UoM used for the finished product. This will ensure that the correct amount of material is ordered and produced for each production order.

    Related Information:
The Component UoM can also be used in other areas of SAP PP such as inventory management and material requirements planning (MRP). It can also be used in other areas such as sales and distribution (SD) and materials management (MM).
