  • Key Concepts:
Flexible constraints are a feature of the Predictive MRP (PP-PMR) component of SAP. They allow users to define the parameters of their MRP run, such as the number of days to plan ahead, the number of days to plan back, and the number of days to consider for safety stock. This allows users to customize their MRP run to meet their specific needs.

    How to use it:
To use flexible constraints, users must first access the PP-PMR component in SAP. Once there, they can select the “Define Flexible Constraints” option from the menu. This will open a window where users can enter their desired parameters for the MRP run. Once all parameters have been entered, users can save their settings and run the MRP.

    Tips & Tricks:
When setting up flexible constraints, it is important to consider the specific needs of your business. For example, if you are planning for a seasonal product, you may want to set a longer planning horizon than usual. Additionally, it is important to consider safety stock levels when setting up flexible constraints. This will ensure that you have enough inventory on hand in case of unexpected demand or supply disruptions.
