Smart SAP Assistant

  • Key Concepts:
Period of adjustment is a feature in SAP's Material Requirements Planning (MRP) component that allows users to adjust the planning horizon for a material. This means that the system can be set to plan for a certain number of days, weeks, or months in the future. The period of adjustment is used to determine when the system should start planning for a material and when it should stop.

    How to use it:
The period of adjustment can be set in the MRP view of the material master record. The user can specify the number of days, weeks, or months that should be used for planning. The system will then use this value to determine when it should start and stop planning for the material.

    Tips & Tricks:
It is important to set the period of adjustment correctly, as it will affect how the system plans for materials. If the period is too short, the system may not have enough time to plan for all materials. If it is too long, the system may plan too far in advance and create unnecessary inventory.

    Related Information:
The period of adjustment is related to other features in SAP's MRP component, such as lot sizing and safety stock. These features can be used in conjunction with the period of adjustment to ensure that materials are planned for efficiently and effectively.
