  • Key Concepts:
MRP profile is a component of the Material Requirements Planning (MRP) module in SAP. It is used to define the parameters for MRP planning runs. The profile contains settings such as the planning horizon, lot size, and safety stock. It also defines the scheduling parameters for the MRP run, such as the scheduling period and the scheduling type.

    How to use it:
The MRP profile is used to define the parameters for an MRP run. The profile can be created in the Customizing application of SAP. Once created, it can be assigned to a material or plant in the Material Master or Plant Master data. The profile can then be used when running an MRP planning run.

    Tips & Tricks:
When creating an MRP profile, it is important to consider the specific needs of the material or plant that it will be assigned to. For example, if a material has a long lead time, then a longer planning horizon should be set in the profile. Additionally, if a material has high demand variability, then a larger safety stock should be set in the profile.
