Component: PP-MRP
Component Name: Material Requirements Planning
Description: The minimum number of days that the dynamic safety stock must cover requirements. The minimum range of coverage is defined in the range of coverage profile.
Key Concepts: Minimum range of coverage (MRC) is a feature in SAP's Material Requirements Planning (MRP) component that allows users to set a minimum order quantity for a material. This ensures that the material is always available in sufficient quantities to meet customer demand. How to use it: To use MRC, users must first set up the minimum order quantity for the material in the MRP view of the material master record. This can be done by entering the desired minimum order quantity in the “Minimum Range of Coverage” field. Once this is done, MRP will automatically generate a purchase requisition for the material when the stock level falls below the minimum order quantity. Tips & Tricks: It is important to note that MRC only applies to materials that are procured externally. For materials that are produced internally, users should use the reorder point feature instead.
