  Weighting groups are used in the Master Production Scheduling (MPS) component of SAP Production Planning (PP-MP). The weighting group is determined by the user and can be changed at any time. 
  
  How to use it: 
  Weighting groups are used to assign a weight to each MRP element. This weight is then used to calculate the total requirement for the material. To set up a weighting group, go to the MPS component of PP-MP and select “Weighting Groups” from the menu. Enter a name for the weighting group and select the materials that should be included in it.
