  • Key Concepts:
Weighting groups are used in the Master Production Scheduling (MPS) component of SAP Production Planning (PP-MP). They are used to assign a weight to each material requirement planning (MRP) element, which is then used to calculate the total requirement for the material. The weighting group is determined by the user and can be changed at any time.

    How to use it:
Weighting groups are used to assign a weight to each MRP element. This weight is then used to calculate the total requirement for the material. To set up a weighting group, go to the MPS component of PP-MP and select “Weighting Groups” from the menu. Enter a name for the weighting group and select the materials that should be included in it. Then enter a weight for each material and save the changes.

    Tips & Tricks:
When setting up a weighting group, it is important to consider how much each material should be weighted relative to other materials in the group. For example, if one material is more important than another, it should be given a higher weight.
