  • Key Concepts:
Buffer value is a parameter used in the Demand-Driven Replenishment (PP-DD) component of SAP. It is used to determine the amount of safety stock that should be kept in inventory to ensure that customer demand can be met. The buffer value is calculated based on the forecasted demand for a given item and the lead time for replenishment.

    How to use it:
The buffer value can be set in the PP-DD component of SAP. To do this, go to the “Demand-Driven Replenishment” tab and select “Buffer Value” from the drop-down menu. Enter the desired buffer value and click “Save” to apply the changes.

    Tips & Tricks:
When setting the buffer value, it is important to consider both customer demand and lead time for replenishment. If the buffer value is set too low, there may not be enough safety stock to meet customer demand. On the other hand, if it is set too high, there may be excess inventory that could lead to higher costs.
