What is selection range in SAP PP-BD - Basic Data?

  • Description: Validity that a change state must have in order to be copied to the engineering workbench worklist. The selection range comprises: Selection period Selection variant optional The following applies in this case. A change status with: Date validity is only copied to the worklist if it is valid on a day in the selection period. Parameter effectivity is only copied to the worklist if it fulfills the selection variant.

    Selection range is a feature in SAP PP-BD Basic Data that allows users to define a range of values for a particular field. This range can be used to filter data in reports and other processes. For example, a selection range can be used to limit the number of materials that are displayed in a report.

    To create a selection range, go to the PP-BD Basic Data menu and select the “Selection Range” option. From there, you can define the range of values for the field you want to filter. Once you have defined the range, you can use it in reports and other processes. 
    
    Tips & Tricks: 
    When creating selection ranges, it is important to remember that they are case sensitive. This means that if you enter a value with capital letters, it will not match values with lowercase letters. Additionally, when defining ranges, make sure to include both the lower and upper bounds of the range.
