You can distinguish between relationship types that are possible in principle and those used in practice. &EXAMPLE& Pumps A and B are linked by a pipe. Because you can pump both from A to B and from B to A, the relationship type possible is "two-way”. In practice you only pump from A to B, so the relationship type used is "one-way”.
