    Permit categories are used in Plant Maintenance (PM) to classify and group permits. Permits are documents that are used to authorize and control access to hazardous areas or equipment. Permit categories are used to group similar permits together, making it easier to manage them.

    In PM, permit categories can be created and managed in the Permit Category Maintenance (PM01) transaction. This transaction allows users to create new permit categories, assign existing permits to them, and edit existing permit categories.
