Smart SAP Assistant

  • Key Concepts:
Baseline costs are a feature of SAP Plant Maintenance (PM) that allows users to compare the actual costs of a maintenance activity to the estimated costs. This comparison helps users identify any discrepancies between the two and take corrective action if necessary. The baseline cost is calculated based on the estimated cost of the activity, the estimated duration of the activity, and any additional costs associated with it.

    How to use it:
In order to use baseline costs in SAP PM, users must first enter the estimated cost and duration of the maintenance activity into the system. Once this information is entered, the system will automatically calculate the baseline cost for the activity. This baseline cost can then be compared to the actual cost of the activity in order to identify any discrepancies between the two.

    Tips & Tricks:
It is important to ensure that all estimated costs and durations are accurate when entering them into SAP PM in order to get an accurate baseline cost. Additionally, it is important to regularly compare actual costs to baseline costs in order to identify any discrepancies and take corrective action if necessary.
