What is dress-up component in SAP PLM-WUI - PLM Web User Interface?


SAP Term: dress-up component

  • Component: PLM-WUI

  • Component Name: PLM Web User Interface

  • Description: A component of a subassembly, which is installed at the same time as the subassembly during the overall assembly process. It could even be done after the final assembly, that is, it could be installed by the dealer or the customer themselves. For example, take the assembly of an automobile. Let us assume that the engine has a special dynamo generator. The generator is installed at the same time as the engine, however, it is not preassembled with the original engine. Its an extra -a dress-up component- although it is functionally part of the engine.

    A dress-up component is a part of the SAP PLM Web User Interface (PLM-WUI) that allows users to customize the look and feel of their user interface.
