What is validity period in SAP PE-LSO - SAP Learning Solution?

SAP Term: validity period

  • Component: PE-LSO

  • Component Name: SAP Learning Solution

  • Description: The period of time in months and years in which participation in a course type is valid as a prerequisite for participation in another course. Prerequisites for course participation are represented by qualifications and by course types. Participation in course types is considered a qualification. The validity of such qualifications can expire in the same way as the validity of other qualifications or skills. When the validity period expires, the relationship between the participant and the course type becomes invalid. This relationship is created during follow-up processing for the course. Note The validity period of qualifications and course types is not related to the validity period of objects and infotype records that defines the period of time during which an object or record exists. This information is stored with the object or infotype including a start and end date.

Smart SAP Assistant

  • Key Concepts:
Validity period is a feature of the SAP Learning Solution (PE-LSO) that allows administrators to set a specific time frame for when a course or learning material is available. This feature helps ensure that learners have access to the most up-to-date content and that outdated materials are not used.

    How to use it:
To set a validity period for a course or learning material, administrators must first log into the SAP Learning Solution. Then, they can select the course or material they wish to set a validity period for and click on the “Validity Period” tab. From there, they can enter the start and end dates for when the course or material will be available.

    Tips & Tricks:
When setting a validity period, it is important to keep in mind that learners will not be able to access the course or material after the end date has passed. Therefore, it is important to set realistic validity periods that allow learners enough time to complete the course or material before it expires.
