  • Description: The highest-level subdivision of benefits data. Benefit areas enable different pools of benefit plans to be administered separately, for example, to reflect geographical location, departments, or production areas. Employees are sorted into benefit areas during processing, according to the corresponding feature. &EXAMPLE& The medical benefits offered by a company in the chemical industry are organized according to production areas. Employees in plastics production have different plans to employees in fertilizer production. Each production areas is represented by a benefit area.
