Component: LOD-SF-EC
Component Name: Employee Central
Description: A method of time recording where employees record only working time that deviates from their planned working time. Deviations can also include on-call time, allowances, or other types of attendance time that must be recorded for documentation purposes or for special payment, for example, 'training' or 'administration duties'. Time sheet entries are generated automatically for the main attendance time types, based on the scheduled working time. These are then ‘merged' in the time sheet with the actual recording of deviations by employees from their scheduled time, to produce the overall recorded time for the period under consideration.
Key Concepts: Negative time recording is a feature in SAP’s Employee Central module that allows employees to record time worked in negative hours. This feature is useful for employees who work overtime and need to record the extra hours they have worked. How to use it: To use negative time recording, an employee must first log into their Employee Central account. Once logged in, they can select the “Time Recording” tab and enter the number of negative hours they have worked. The system will then automatically calculate the total amount of overtime worked and deduct it from their total hours worked. Tips & Tricks: When using negative time recording, it is important to remember that the system will only accept negative hours if they are entered in whole numbers. For example, if an employee has worked 1.5 hours of overtime, they must enter -1 instead of -1.5.
