What is drill up in SAP LOD-ANA - SAP Analytics Cloud?

SAP Term: drill up

Smart SAP Assistant

  • Key Concepts:
Drill up is a feature in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) that allows users to explore data from different perspectives. It enables users to move up the hierarchy of data, from the most granular level to the highest level of aggregation. This feature is especially useful when analyzing large datasets, as it allows users to quickly identify trends and patterns in the data.

    How to use it:
To use drill up, users must first select a dimension or measure in the data set. Then, they can click on the “drill up” icon in the toolbar. This will open a window that displays all of the available levels of aggregation for that dimension or measure. Users can then select the desired level of aggregation and click “OK” to apply it to the data set.

    Tips & Tricks:
When using drill up, it is important to remember that it only works with dimensions and measures that have multiple levels of aggregation. Additionally, users should be aware that drill up will only move up one level at a time. If users want to move up multiple levels, they must repeat the process for each level.
