Key Concepts: Aggregating characteristics are characteristics in SAP LO-VC Variant Configuration that are used to group together other characteristics. They are used to simplify the configuration process by allowing the user to select a single value for the aggregating characteristic, which then automatically selects the values for the other characteristics that are grouped together. How to use it: In order to use an aggregating characteristic, it must first be created in the SAP system. This can be done by going to the “Characteristics” tab in the LO-VC Variant Configuration and selecting “Create Aggregating Characteristic”. Once created, it can be used in the configuration process by selecting a value for the aggregating characteristic, which will then automatically select the values for the other characteristics that are grouped together. Tips & Tricks: When creating an aggregating characteristic, it is important to make sure that all of the characteristics that are being grouped together have compatible values. For example, if one of the characteristics has a range of 1-10 and another has a range of 1-5, then selecting a value of 6 for the aggregating characteristic would not be valid.
