Key Concepts: Material status is a feature of the LO-MD Logistics Basic Data component in SAP. It is used to control the availability of materials for use in production and sales. The material status can be set to either active or inactive, depending on the current availability of the material. How to use it: The material status can be set in the Material Master record. To do this, go to Logistics > Materials Management > Material Master > Material > Basic Data > Status. Here, you can select either “Active” or “Inactive” from the drop-down menu. Tips & Tricks: When setting the material status, it is important to remember that an inactive material cannot be used in production or sales. Therefore, it is important to ensure that the correct status is set for each material.
