  • Key Concepts:
Selection variants are used in the IS-U-EDM Energy Data Management component of SAP to define the criteria for selecting data from the database. They are used to limit the amount of data that is retrieved from the database, allowing users to quickly and easily access only the data they need. Selection variants can be used to filter data by date, customer, or other criteria.

    How to use it:
To use a selection variant in IS-U-EDM Energy Data Management, users must first create a selection variant. This can be done by navigating to the “Selection Variants” tab in the application and clicking “Create”. From there, users can enter the criteria they wish to use for their selection variant. Once saved, users can then select the selection variant when running reports or queries in order to limit the data that is retrieved from the database.

    Tips & Tricks:
When creating a selection variant, it is important to remember that all criteria must be met in order for a record to be included in the results. For example, if a user creates a selection variant with criteria for customer name and date range, only records that match both criteria will be included in the results.
