What is requirements grouping in SAP IS-AFS-ARUN - Allocation Run?

SAP Term: requirements grouping

  • Component: IS-AFS-ARUN

  • Component Name: Allocation Run

  • Description: Sales orders can be grouped together in an allocation run. Individual groups can then be processed differently, unlike the allocation run type. Sales orders with identical data form an allocation group. You must determine which individual fields are relevant for forming the groups. The grouping is the prerequisite for using the different allocation logics of the allocation run.

Smart SAP Assistant

  • Key Concepts:
Requirements grouping is a feature of the Allocation Run component of SAP IS-AFS-ARUN. It allows users to group requirements into different categories, such as customer, product, or region. This allows users to quickly and easily identify which requirements need to be fulfilled and which can be ignored.

    How to use it:
To use requirements grouping, users must first create a new allocation run. Then, they can select the “Group Requirements” option from the menu. This will open a window where users can select the criteria for grouping their requirements. Once the criteria have been selected, users can click “OK” to save their changes and begin the allocation run.
    Tips & Tricks:
When using requirements grouping, it is important to remember that the criteria used for grouping must be relevant to the task at hand. For example, if a user is trying to allocate resources based on customer demand, then they should group their requirements by customer rather than by product or region.

Requirements grouping is just one of many features available in the Allocation Run component of SAP IS-AFS-ARUN. Other features include resource allocation, cost analysis, and reporting.
