  • Key Concepts:
Masking is a security feature in SAP GRC-UDS that helps protect sensitive data from unauthorized access. It works by replacing sensitive data with a “mask”, which is a non-sensitive value that can be used to identify the data without revealing its true value. For example, a mask might replace a credit card number with a series of asterisks.

    How to use it:
Masking can be enabled in SAP GRC-UDS by setting up a masking rule. This rule defines which data should be masked and how it should be masked. Once the rule is set up, the system will automatically apply the masking when the data is accessed or displayed.

    Tips & Tricks:
When setting up a masking rule, it’s important to consider the impact of the masking on other systems and processes. For example, if the masked data is used in an automated process, the process may fail if the masked value is not recognized.
