What is pending in SAP FS-PM - Policy Management?


SAP Term: pending

  • Component: FS-PM

  • Component Name: Policy Management

  • Description: Incomplete contract status for which some data is missing, as this data is not yet available. &EXAMPLE& The investment of fund shares on the fund account for a contract must take place on the effective date. Investment requires fund prices that may not yet be available at the time of execution. Until the prices are known, the contract is pending. Business transactions can be entered and predating during the pending period, as long as their customization supports this.

    Pending is a status in the FS-PM Policy Management component of SAP. It indicates that a policy or process is in the process of being created or updated, but has not yet been approved or finalized. 
    
    How to use it: 
    When creating or updating a policy or process in FS-PM Policy Management, the status will be set to pending until it is approved and finalized. Once the policy or process is approved, the status will be changed to active. 
    
    Tips & Tricks: 
    When creating or updating a policy or process, it is important to remember that the status will remain pending until it is approved and finalized. This means that any changes made to the policy or process while it is in pending status will not take effect until it is approved.
