What is group dimension in SAP FS-PM - Policy Management?

  • Description: Business grouping for product module groups. The group dimension allows multiple assignment of product modules to product module groups. This is necessary to be able to reuse the product modules in multiple business contexts.

    Group dimension is a feature of the FS-PM Policy Management component of SAP. It allows users to group together different objects, such as accounts, cost centers, and business areas, into a single dimension. This allows for easier analysis and reporting of data. 
    
    How to use it: 
    To use the group dimension feature, users must first create a group dimension in the FS-PM Policy Management component. This can be done by selecting the “Create Group Dimension” option from the menu. Once the group dimension is created, users can then add objects to it by selecting the “Add Objects” option from the menu. 
    
    Tips & Tricks: 
    When creating a group dimension, it is important to consider how the objects will be grouped together. For example, if you are grouping accounts together, you may want to consider grouping them by type or by region. This will make it easier to analyze and report on data related to those accounts. 
    
    Related Information: 
    The FS-PM Policy Management component also includes other features such as budgeting and forecasting tools, as well as reporting and analytics capabilities. Additionally, there are other components of SAP that can be used in conjunction with FS-PM Policy Management, such as SAP HANA and SAP BusinessObjects.
